Our Story

Our Story

After surviving a shooting during her first year of teaching at her alma mater, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Brittany Sinitch founded The Unbreakable Organization to help support those affected by senseless tragedies from her family's kitchen table. Today, the mission of The Unbreakable Organization is clear, with high hopes of supporting individuals and communities impacted by gun violence in the aftermath of tragedy. Since 2019, The Unbreakable Organization has granted over $18,000 in scholarships to students affected by gun violence, with the hope that they recognize they are not alone. We understand how crucial one's healing and mental health journey is in the aftermath of gun violence-related tragedies.

To support the mental health of our community, we provide free mental health resources through our online platforms and work with a team of licensed mental health counselors, therapists, and EMDR specialists to ensure that our community never feels alone. The Unbreakable Organization has a team of dedicated individuals working year-round to support our mission, as well as a Youth Advisory Board made up of 17 students from high school to postgraduate levels who are making a real change in the world and carrying out our mission in their communities. Together, we believe it is possible to put your pieces back together again and find what makes you unbreakable.

Even in the darkest moments, you are unbreakable.
